We love to take our dogs out to restaurants for patio dining. They’re extremely well-behaved and there are a number of Richmond, VA restaurants who welcome dogs with good manners in their outdoor areas. It’s a great way to give real world socialization practice and obedience training reinforcement to your pet. It’s fun too.
One of our favorite places to eat is Chuys — even though they don’t allow dogs on the patio. Disappointing, yes — but their “free appetizer” promotion and 15 minutes of fame for your dog almost makes up for it.
Here’s How it Works
To get the free appetizer, you’ll have to leave your dog at home. Instead, bring in a framed photo and when your server comes to take your order, present it to her. That will earn your dog a spot on the wall in the Dog Room and earn you a free appetizer of your choice at either of the Chuy’s Restaurants in RVA.
And be sure to visit the Dog Room next time you’re at Chuys. They rotate the dog photos, so there’s always something new.
